Policy expert rang me to see if they could try to get me a better offer on home insurance. The man who worked through the quote with me was very polite and helpful and found me a slightly better quote which I agreed to go with although the excess was higher and paid a deposit. However when I then phoned to cancel the renewal of my old policy I was offered a better deal with less excess so I didn't cancel and phoned policy excess to cancel the policy I had just taken out half an hour previously. I had to wait for someone to ring me back. The man who rang me back wasn't interested in cancelling the policy and wouldn't listen when I tried asking for my money to be refunded he just spent 10 minutes persuading me not to cancel and offered me M&S vouchers and when I wouldn't change my mind was extremely rude and told me I was a time waster and they would not deal me in the future. When I asked about getting my deposit refunded again he said it hadn't gone through yet. The next day I found out by contacting the bank that they have taken the £71 so I had to ring back and speak to someone else and now have been told it will take 5 days to be refunded. 6 days later I got an email saying the policy had been cancelled but the money has not been refunded yet.
