If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. I upgraded my home insurance policy to include home emergency cover which according to the person that sold it to me would give me complete peace of mind, covering locks, pipework, electrics, etc, etc.... until I came to make a claim. My front door lock jammed and would only lock with the key still in it so I could not secure my house if I left it. Nationwide said that this was not an emergency and was not covered on my policy as my house was secure with me inside it. I said how about if I go outside and then we have this conversation? and was told I could not do this as I had informed them I was inside the house. According to Nationwide I am supposedly never to leave my house again because it is secure. Maybe I could claim my wages in view of the fact I will never be able to work again, and maybe they will pay for my on line shopping deliveries because otherwise I will starve !I have paid a considerable amount extra for this premium for nothing and have now had to pay getting on for £200 as well to have my locks fixed. Needless to say I will be cancelling my insurance with Nationwide as soon as I can, and would advice any of you out there thinking of having them....DON'T. Nationwide, be honest with your policies and learn from ALL the comments on this review site.
