Tried for a quote online. Not competitive but they rang me and said they don't quote their best prices online so competotors don't price match. So if i'd have clicked buy now I would have paid a higher price. No response! Then he managed to save me £1.80 on the year which was for a payment in full but if I wanted to pay monthly it went up by £30 plus. Then told me off for allowing him to 'work his fingers to the bone' contacting 8 companies to obtain a £1.80 saving! I have his name but will not divulge it to protect his poor family. It's your job mate, don't take rejection so badly

Have just experienced similar with a female agent. Am currently with Castle Cover,renewal came through £54 higher than last year (no claims made) inviting me to renew.Then came the phone call!! I stated many companies offering more for less, so am looking around and immediately my renewal was dropped to last years premium - ie a drop of £54 which I'd have paid if I'd just "renewed". I am now trying to get them off my back...they are asking me to justify why I'm hesitating to renew with them...yeah right!!

you'll find that the majority of Companys increase renewal prices but can discount to match other prices , this term is called "price matching" and is used with all insurers , this does not apply only to castle cover
