I took out a home insurance contents policy online for my son who is moving into a new flat. I entered all details correctly but when the policy details came up after purchase, it did not mention which apartment even though I had clicked the correct apartment details and it was showing correctly when I purchased it. The only way to change was to phone. After a wait I spoke to a very nice young man at the service centre who had to go through all the details yet again as he was unable to make a simple change without doing so, he kept apologising. When he made the change for some reason the policy had gone up by £38.42! I was not happy about this and he could not explain why as the details were the same. The only way was to pay and he promised that he would get the difference refunded but apparently I won't know if this has been done as they will not email me confirmation! I wanted to cancel but they needed to speak to my son and again, they could not ring him and as he only has a mobile it would have cost a further fortune for him to do this. I reluctantly went ahead but would not recommend to anyone and I certainly shall not use again. I was not allowed to cancel automatic renewal either which I think is totally unreasonable if you pay a one off payment you should not have to leave your details with them.
So annoyed with Budget.

We do regularly review our website to make sure that it’s clear and error free, but on rare occasions unfortunately an error does happen. When I rang back this evening the man I spoke to seemed to have no idea why I was ringing and said he would feedback my comments. So I can't understand why I was asked to ring which cost me another fortune!
