I was using a modern highly rated amplifier before this, but it sounded distant and it just didn't make the music to to life. Then a friend suggested that I try a British made amp, and this was one of the better ones to start with. When I hooked it up to my existing system, I was swept away by the sweet, detailed and airy highs, the natural and silky reproduction of the midrange of both voice and instruments.
