OVERALL......DIRTY, FILTHY, RUNDOWN HOLIDAY PARK. SOME STAFF GAVE GOOD SERVICE. CHILDRENS ENTERTAINMENT MAGICAL FOR YOUNG ONES, BUT TOO REPETITIVE. ACCOMODATION IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE, THEY SHOULD PAY YOU TO STAY IN THESE FILTHY, STINKING APARTMENTS!!!
Arrived late because we had near 500miles of driving to get there. Collected keys from guest service office. Drove to accomodation, (Silver)entered to most awful smell, carpets were sticky and stained. Furniture was broken, main bedroom door would'nt close because bed too big for room. Pillows were smelly, bedding was stained and full of holes and tears. The windows were broken and would'nt close securely and there was a huge gap under entrance door. The walls are paper thin, affording no privacy. Finally, the bathroom was filthy, with mould growth,(legionella)red bacterial growth on the shower head. Holes in the tiles and walls. After inspection I immediately returned to office to find it closed!
We unloaded luggage, went to site shop and bought cleaning materials. I proceeded to clean for two hours, after a 10hr drive.
Office still not open on way to breakfast. Could only eat in mass dining hall, after booking info said we had choice of two restaruants. Reported food being served from a basket covered in a thick layer of blue mould!(reported this to council environmental services, whom took no action!!!). Not to be any different, Butlins staff took no action either and basket was still in use next morning. Shocking disregard for food safety standards and the health of their customers.
Complained to guest services, received letter from resort manager Chris Baron whose conclusion was tough! Nothing could be done for us now holiday was over, and there would be no recompense for the awful conditions we endured during our stay. Absolutely no regard for customer service, this company advertises falsely, to extrude your hard earned money. Creating maximum profit for the very minimum of outlay!
