Where shall I begin. On arrival you are kept waiting by rude reception staff not knowing if your caravan is ready or not. Frantic calls to housekeeping and maintenance keep you waiting longer. If you're unlucky enough to get a van without a hard surface approach next to it, look out! you will need a boat in wet weather and waders at the very least. The van had all sorts of peculiar smells eminating from it, some positively stomach turning. Housekeeping came and made a token gesture of vacuuming and wiping with damp cloth, but made no difference.
Light bulbs, toilet cistern, sofa bed, kitchen waste, window closers, oven and other fixtures needed attention. After a request to reception, about two hours later a scruffy tobacco scented character turns up and tells you its nearly time for his shift to finish. So he can't fix hardly any of the problems. He just plays with the cistern, replaces one light bulb, because they have'nt any more of the right bulbs in maintenance store. Back to reception, pushed to one side because the only receptionist present is taking bookings on the phone. (Some future sucker).
The whole park has the feeling of depression about it. Employees on the park grumble between themselves about their lot, they are probably paid a pittance. Food and drink costs the earth. Presentation of food is disgusting, overcooked fatty substances purporting to be items on the menu are served to you in such an apologetic manner. They know its awful.
The only thing that is keeping the park going, is the beautiful location of West Bay. If it was situated anywhere else, further from the sea, then it would go out of business. With a different attitude this park could a jewel along the jurrassic coast.
