Our Family have visited the Hoburne Park at Christchurch twice and were greatly impressed with it.So much so we decided to visit Hoburne Torbay.We expected the same high quality we experienced at Hoburne Christchurch.We were sadly very disappointed.So much so we left a day early.
The caravans unlike at Hoburne Christchurch, were placed much nearer together therefore making privacy virtually impossible.Our caravan was next to a guy and his Family who was constantly on his mobile,outside our caravan and would be outside at 6am waking us all up as he talked incessantly on it very loudly on and off through out the day and evening.Sometimes he would come round to the car parking space which was directly facing our caravan door and sit in his car with the window open just making non stop phone calls to workers at his business.He would stare directly into our caravan as that was his line of view so no privacy at all.
The beds were noticeably smaller than Hoburne Christchurch and with two teenage sons unlike Hoburne Christchurch where you could take the unit between the two beds away to make a bigger bed the units here were fixed, so no chance of doing that.No one slept well and we had to give the double bed to our over 6ft son and sleep on the settees in the lounge.The other son had to bring the mattresses in from his room and sleep in the lounge with us. All this could have been avoided if the unit between the two beds was not fixed to the wall!
Seagulls were a very big problem constantly screeching and pooping on our car but we appreciated that was unavoidable unlike the guy with the mobile.
The shop on site was expensive and not a particularly good range of stock available there.A complete waste of money and we all feel so tired that we have come back feeling we need a holiday!
