Item: Holden Calais V6 6.0
The Holden Calais is a really pleasant vehicle all round. Dont be put off by the big engine. Had mine as low as 12 litres per 100 klm and that was in almost all slow driving in traffic.
I know people who have acheived just under 10 litres per 100 klms on a trip.
Of course, I you are heavy on the pedal, it would be nothing to get to 20 ...

Item: Holden Vectra JS Wagon
I purchased my Holden Vectra JS wagon more than 8 years ago and apart from the initial electrical problems it's proved to be an excellent vehicle. Despite being parked outside in the Qld sun and rain all day for the majority of that time, the paintwork is still very good and there is absolutely no sign of rust. It is very quiet on the highway, due in part to its' high gearing I suspect, but the performance is fine, even in 5th gear. The idle air control valve has misbehaved twice but it's ...

Once the initial niggles were fixed it has been a great mid sized car with plenty of boot space and a reliable engine. Handles well and doesn't drink too much. If you look after it then it will look after

Item: Holden VS CALAIS (1995-1996)
Have a VR executive that is for my everyday use 3.8 ecotech, has done 250 clicks still a great car. Totally reliable.
VS 5 litre Calais, is wrapped up in the garage - bought it from a retired enthusiast at 97,000kms three years ago - I've just done 102kms.
I think the VR & VS models still are great 'lookers', and seemed to be significantly lighter than the VT's onwards (correct me if I'm wrong). That translates to me me with the handling, performance and economy - as I said ...

Would not suggest buying this vehicle I have had mine for 5 years with nothing but problems, I would sell it but would not want to inflict repair costs on poor buyer.
