The Hitachi HDR160 looks good, and does what it says on the box! It's easy to set up and understand although potential dust problems in open vents?

18 months later it stopped working, the main circuit board was faulty. It will cost £450 to completely replace the circuit board: Hitachi sent me a letter confirming that "due to the age of the television" (18 months?) they will not assist in the repair. It will be easier and advisable to scrap the television and buy a new one. ...

This review is for the Hitachi 28 inch C28WF560N CRT tv.I bought it to replace my old Hitachi tv.
The battle between LCD and Plasma rages on,that's why I decided to stay with tried and tested technology.
The picture quality/colour and contrast/blacks and whites is as good as some LCD sets that I have seen.
The set is used with a Digihome hard drive recorder.The tv was purchased from Comet for under £200 inc 3 yrs ...
