What can i say? I have been coming here for years, and it's had it's ups and downs. At the moment, the food, staff, service and ambience are fantastic! If you are having a quite meal for 2 or celebrating with your kids, If you are having a party or just eating out for the hell of it, the staff will go out of their way to make your experience special. If it's your Birthday and you let them know in advance, they will give you a cake and present. The buffet on a Sunday is a must. At £12.50 a head and half price for kids, there is a huge amount of freshly cooked food including some very delicous desserts. The food is always fresh, beautifully presented and pretty good value. The wine list is varied albeit slightly expensive. I would heartily reccomend this restaurant!

I booked a table on-line and went for a dinner on Saturday night. I thought the food was delicious and quick service. The atmosphere was great, the restaurant good for celebrating birthday and groups. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Typically good all round, we had a table of four on a Friday night (i would recommending booking advance as the place soon fills up!)
Attentive service, the food was very good, more so if you try something different, we had the sea bass which was fabulous!!
The Atmosphere was buzzy which you would expect on a very busy friday night
The washrooms could do with updating as they are kind of stuck in the 80's! but other than that great food, service and a wonderful evening

Not what it used to be. The food was always fresh, tasty and had something special about it. Now it smells like MSG and is tainted with food colouring. I won't be going back.

The food was greasy and of no significant quality. Our group of eight were sat at a table that left us feeling cramped and juggling for table space. The service was poor in that the staff were not attentive but friendly on our brief interventions. There were too many covers for the size of the restaurant and for its facilities. A disappointing night out.

Ideally located in the town centre, nice ambience in the restaurent, good food on the menu but very very bad service when I went to Chef Peking. The waiters literally wanted us to order the food the minute we stepped in and then were literally hovering over our heads during the meal even though the restaurent was practically empty and there were no people waiting to get in which couldve justified the staff hurrying us through.

Good food if not eaten in excess. Good ambiance and waiting. Good prices but don't eat too much or you may find a horrible taste in your mouth like I did!

Chef Peking in Harpendenis is superb! The best I have been to outside China Town.
My uncle used to drive here from Royston (about 45 mins)!
It's not cheap, but it is faultless. Highly recommended.

I totally recommend the Chef Peking Chinese restaurant in Harpenden. It's one of the best I have ever been to. The service was superb; very fast and friendly. The food was perfect, and I loved everything about the restaurant. There were lots of staff, so we were never kept waiting. Great location, and well priced.
I have recommended this restaurant to many of my friends and family who have loved it as well!!

We went to The Chef Peking for my 30th birthday. We had a table of 9 on a Saturday night and even though they were really busy we had excellent service all night. The food is of the highest standard. We live in Hemel and it's the best Chinese we have found for miles.
I can't praise their food enough it is superb.

Chef Peking in Harpenden is a truly wonderful Chinese restaurant. I've eaten in some fantastic Chinese restaurants all over the world but as far as I'm concerned, this is the very best. To my tastes, it is superior to any Chinese restaurant in London's Chinatown. I would highly recommend the Sunday buffet but be sure to arrive by 12.30pm before the restaurant becomes understandably packed! The quality and selection is absolutely excellent value at 12GBP per head.
