Stopped by this little place on our way to Hereford with the family and had a Sunday Roast. Lovely staff, fantastic food (great portions) and atmosphere. Would recommend to all!

Until recently we really enjoyed coming to this bar/resturarant, on a weekly basis, good bar food at a good price. In the past month the menu was changed, good you might think. but what it really meant was put a lot less on the plate! The last three visits, the portion side as become a lot smaller, it was more a lunch menu than an evening menu, the Indian curry wouldnt be enough to fill you and at 12.95 was a toally rip off, and the plate of chips to cover two couples wouldnt be enough to fill one person. We brought friends and were embrassed by the portion size, and the price.! This is a pub not an La Carte Menu, Too expensive for so little, and the food not good enough to warrant this! The lamb was not tender and was not worth 12.95. You have lost our weekly custom! Kate and Traff Thomas

Had a great meal with my family to celebrate chirstmas 2010. Floorless service from the front of house staff along side an excellent ambience. well sourced, cooked and presented food. The cask ale was 10 / 10 with at leat to wadworths beers available. A very good local.

We live locally, but had not been here for maybe two years. Was a little anxious after reading the two previous reviews. My opinion, the staff were very friendly and attentative, the food was as described and well presented, tasty and ample portions. We had a meal on the May Bank Holiday weekend, this Pub has a touring caravan site adjacent so is well patronised, giving it a good atmosphere for families and couples alike. Felt the whole dining experience was good and would not hesitate to return.

The Trumpet Inn has been refitted and taken over by Wadworth. The refit is tasteful and the toilet facilities are much improved. There is now a small beer garden which in the good weather would be nice.
A childs meal is £8 which is ridiculous. When I asked why my 18 month old should have an £8 meal the member of staff was quite unhelpful and rude to our party of guests. In the end we had to order a meal of sausage beans a chips priced at £8 for our little girl. The waitress brought out the meal without beans and when I asked where they were they reappeared 5 mins later in a boiling hot microwaved dish. So service was a bit clueless.
Generally the menu was all over the place as was portion control. Our party of 6 were happy with the flavour of the food but felt that overall it was overpriced. The service was not good however and whilst they advertise FAMILIES WELCOME. I would not recommend this pub to anyone with children aged under 12.
