Leng of pole approx 6ft plus 18 inches for trimmer head. Excellent reach. Trimmer is light but with such a long pole could be tiresome if a lot of trimming required. I used it on a tall Red Robin tree and found it easy to use. Quality appears good although I have only used it for a short time. Adjustment of lenght requres an allen key so you need to plan beforehand as you cannot flick from one lenght to another very quickly but did not find this a serious disadvantage
