“Inset stove - Disappointingly poor heat for the expense”

Written on: 07/09/2013

Having spent a lot of time researching the best stove for our Victorian fireplace and taking advice for the correct sized stove I took the plunge and paid a lot more than I had planned to on the basis that we would get a burner we could leave going overnight and one which would heat our front room easily and efficiently. I bought the IQ13 nestor martin inset stove in January. Once the stove was installed I spent 2 months of frustration and shivering as we tried every which way to get heat out… Read Full Review

Hi,

I have also bought iq33, and have the exactly same problem. The stove has very little heat output and burns a lot of wood. Its getting to the point, i want to throw it out of the window, and buy another cheaper stove... Can you please explain, what screw did the engineer adjust to get the 'wood eating beast' to work properly?
I could give it a try before i throw this stove away... I also wish i could turn back time and bought something else for this money...

Solidly built stove used 24/7 during the winter months with a niggling design flaw the makers should correct – A knob for adjusting air flow is dependant on an alan screw that keeps working loose and is difficult to tighten – I would give it 5 stars but for that problem- and it affects the whole range. When your stove is hot and you want to turn it down its a *** when the thing come off!… Read Full Review
