After numerous attempts to make contact, due to no phone line (strange set up !!!) I managed to chat to the manager via e mail. “Ripped Off”

I actually had a great experience here. Even though the stylist wasn't chatty, she did a great job of my hair last time. Since it was my third visit, I purchased a voucher from them in order to get a good deal on my next cut. So I'm more than a little hacked off that I've now paid for nothing with not even a courtesy call. No hope of getting my money back so they better hope I don't bump into them in the street. Worst salon I have ever visited Rude staff Vile manager Hair left in a terrible mess Had to have my hair retreated just to correct the mess left by these inconsiderate rude poorly trained staff . I have been a regular in the hair salon with for 2 years now for the simple reason the salon always gets my hair colour perfect every time and knows exactly what i suit! I have got to say just how impressed i have been with my experiences of the other excellent services available - so much so ive been in there twice this week for a well deserved treat; a great cut by [name removed] and a well needed massage from the new beautician. I originally booked a Groupon voucher, costing £12 for a cut, condition treatment and a choice of straightening/curling. I was massively unimpressed from beginning to end. First of all, the store smelt of cigarettes, a smell which was particularly on the woman who cut my hair. Having fag hands rubbed into my hair was not what I wanted. I also brought this deal on groupon and was very unhappy I was only given a dry cut and my hair was not cut straight, I was also asked to pay £5 because my hair wasn't cut short enough! as I had no money the women did not straighten my hair as I was so disappointed I contacted groupon and got my money back.

I booked a groupon voucher to use in the salon back in June 2012. When I rang to make an appointment I was told they were fully booked until December! They then cancelled 2 appointments by text just a few hours prior. When I called to ask why they cancelled me twice and not a full paying customer, I was just told to get a refund via groupon. They obviously had no intention of fulfilling their obligation. Not a way to run a business. (read more)

Honestly it is the worst hairdressers that I have ever been to. First of all they were half an hour late to do my hair. I booked it with one hair dressers and some other newly qualified hairdresser did it instead which I wasn't too impressed by. On the phone we agreed to dip dye my hair lilac and the hairdresser said she could do that and she said she would use bleach. She didn't use bleach. First experience of Groupon. If you choose to purchase a Ivissa beaute offer make sure you have a back up appointment. After having a huge wait to be allocated an "offer slot" complete denial of me having made the appointment in the first place, next available appointment, under pressure, offered 2 months later! I’m not sure what the previous person is talking about as i have been having my hair cut and coloured here for a few months now. In that time they have been consistently the best hairdressers in the city. My hairdresser was really lovely and attentive to what I wanted to have done and was also helpful with giving advice and tips. I went for a wash, cut & blow dry. I have to say I have been to numerous hairdressers and this was not a good experience. When I walked out I did not feel l had a haircut, awful experience from the washing to the cutting, no products used. I guess the whole experience together was horrible. When you are paying you want value for the price and would want to go back again and again. I don't think I shall ever be going in that salon again even if there was a free offer. (read more)

I originally had a wowcher for Ivissa Hair & Beauty, Stoneygate, Leicester back in May/ June 2012. I made an appointment for Saturday June 9th at 4.30pm. The salon rang me on the day to say thay that beautician was ill. I rearranged the appointment for Sunday 24th June at 10.30- fair enough- people get ill and they did let me know. UPDATE: I sent letters and emails to Wowcher. No acknowledgement received- except that they forwarded my complaint to Ivissa, asking if my comments were true. Eventually I lost patience and bombarded them with emails. Eventually someone actually replied.

Actually, it's more to do with the way I've been treated- first by Ivissa and now by Wowcher.
These discount companies are fine when everything goes well. Different story when they've got your money and something goes wrong, eh?

I understand their beauty business is going be taken over by new lady. I have in fact had treatments from Crystal for last 2 years and you will not fine better service anywhere else. Check her Facebook page out Affordable BeautyMidlands.
i searched this salon as crystal told me she is going to rent a room within and was shocked to see the feedback then realised its old.

I have to agree with the others who complained about this hairdresses only I managed to get an appointment with my voucher. Didnt even have time to sit down that the girl was washing my hair well, you could call it wash hardly bothered to rub the shampoo into it or the conditioner. Best thing to do is report it to Trading Standards as the more people who complain the quicker action will be taken. The number to ring is 0116 2459922 and ask for Trading Standards. They are in breach of contract.

My friend bought me a voucher for this salon based on the fact it is in a really nice area, it had to be good right? Wrong. The website is no longer active, phones are rarely answered and voicemails are ignored. I eventually tried emailing the owner who was curt in her reply, telling me to ring the salon - but they don't answer!!!!! Most therapists are young these days and doesn't affect the level of treatment received. As for the reviews saying that the staff are rude, my therapist couldn't do enough for me! I had a groupon voucher for myself and friend for two treatments each 90 minutes per person in total. I eventually managed to book for 5pm on Saturday. Arrived on time and the treatments we choose were a manicure and pedicure. They were the worst I have ever had. The therapist who did mine was young and very inexperienced. I had my hair done through groupon and the colour looks amazing it had lasted me so long compared to when I usually have my hair done at other salons, my hairdresser was superb and I was well looked after. I know from experience how bad the service at Ivissa is - I was left upset for days. Draw your own conclusion on whether to go yourself, and who left those 5* reviews!!

I think Groupon and other offer sites are a very good way for potential customers to 'test drive' a company of any sorts, that is what I did with Ivissa but their rude staff, awful conditions, poor quality materials/treatments mean I wouldnt go near the salon ever again and the day I walk along stonygate and find it has gone (an inevitability) will be a day I will well and truly relish

I'm inclined to agree with Klb38! I look forward to the day I see the "Premises to Let" sign appears over that shop on the parade. Even the other shop keepers (who offer great service I add - what makes Stoneygate shops special) have told me how many dissatisfied customers seem to come out of Ivissa. And I agree with Rebelrebel - we are all entitled to our opinions, that does not make us rude and arrogant, and my opinion is quite firm - I will not go near the place. Anyway, I have been in touch with the BBC who might be putting a "mystery customer" into the place. I look forward to seeing Ivissa's "charming" manager being chased down the road by a roving reporter.

This is a cheap, dirty and very unprofessional salon. I went there expecting to be advised on colour and was asked to choose from a book! You are told on the voucher you will see a senior stylist but the girl I saw had no experience whatsover. While waiting for my colour to take she had a chat with her next client then asked the other stylist if she would cut it as she didn't know how. I am very disgusted and dissapointed with this place 'Ivissa Beaute'... The place have let me down when i got there, at last minute by refusing the treatments. I am 100% sure i was not wrong as i had it written down in several places. This has caused me great inconvience as i took a day off work, drive out of my way and I had a wedding to attend the next day which is why i needed the treatments. I was there when you came in and totally agree with everything you have said. I was supposed to be seen by a senior stylist but not convinced the girl appointed to me was even qualified. She had no idea about colours and asked me to choose from a book then i heard her ask the other stylist if she would cut the next clients hair as she couldn't do it. I was horrified and refused to allow her to cut my hair although i did ask if she would trim my fringe. She did and made a complete mess of it. I had to ask her to stop and then i walked out. I have 2 other sessions on teh voucher i bought but needless to say I will not be using them.

26/7/2012 I had an absolutley terrible experience at the 'so called' Ivissa hair and beauty salon today. I arrived bang on time for my 3pm appointment, however, I was made to wait for over half an hour before anyone even acknowledged me. He did'nt want to know and said I should have said it there and then ( which I did!!!!). He didnt want to know. I was very stupid paying full £45 for this kind of 'treatment' and not checking out the reviews before. Hope that other people check the comments about the place and choose a decent salon instead!

Bought a groupon voucher for this hairdressers with my mum. We went along to make an appointment and have a colour test. On arrival the door was locked and after knocking several times a young girl came with the keys to unlock the door-very strange!!!We asked to make an appointment and were told we couldnt get in for a couple of months. “HORRIFICALLY RUDE STAFF-TERRIBLE SALON-AVOID!”

A friend and I attended this salon for a massage and for a manicure and pedicure in June. The Swedish massage was a groupon offer for £12 which was usually priced at £38. The massage I received was sub standard and was not a swedish massage at all and I feel I was essentially carelessly rubbed for an hour with little technique or structure leading to a very un-relaxing, and in some parts uncomfortable, experience. I contacted Ivassi when I saw the Groupon offer, although they did not have any availability so I did not purchase the voucher. They took my contact details and said they would be in touch if there was any availability and honour the Groupon offer. I was contacted at 9.45am on Sunday 8th July (even though I actually wanted an appointment on or before Saturday 7th July), however I still required an appointment. there has been a misunderstanding from your side, as you were told to come in for a consultation but you arrived 20minutes late for this therefore you were kept waiting for 15 minutes as the stylist called another client in this slot , please note the policy does state if clients arrive 15 mins or more late for their appointment , then it will have to rescheduled , we also can confirm we will not book any future appointments for you as you called members of staff a "cow" , there was a 12 yr old girl with her mother in the salon and other clients who were shocked and frightened by your behavior.

Its called Ivissa not "IVASSI " , so in future i would recommend you check the salon name your going to before you even book an appointment miss Tahira.

NEVER EVER GO TO IVISSA. It is the worst salon I have ever visited. I made the mistake of buying a groupon for a Swedish Massage and manicure. The salon was dirty and grubby. They had double booked on the day I went. It us run by a bunch of young amateurs. The girl who massaged me I feel had no formal qualifictions. She applied no pressure whatsoever. She did not ask if I had any allergies before starting. Instead of warming the oil on her hands, she poured it straight onto my body - cold.... (read more)

Lovely friendly staff , great customer service ,and relaxed enviroment. Lovely hair cut and colour. The Hairdresser was great and really listens to what you want. Have booked a return visit already. (read more)

I bought it from Groupon in January and when I tried to book in late Feb, I got it for today (10 May'12) as the guy on phone said they are all book till then (...and seeing today's appointments, I am pretty sure, he was lying to me). When I reached there, I found two very unwelcoming people who did not even bother to greet me. The therapist told me to go to upstairs in a room. i agree, i went today with my friend, who had booked and paid through groupon too as a birthday treat, we arrived 5 minutes late .when we entered , we could see the miserabled girl in the back room but she never came to greet us. after severla minutes waiting, she eventually came out ,she rudley said, ''you are late for your appointment so you will both
have to pay a £5 charge''. we could not believe what we were hearing. we asked why? and she said it was compnay policy. we asked to see the manager, a man cam out, he was very stern looking and he continued to say that we needed to be charged £5 for arriving late, as it would affect the next customer, we said we would be happy for them to finishe the treatments 10 mins early to compensate, but he said this was not possible, his manner was very abrupt and threatening, we told him we thought this was unaceptable and asked for our money back but he said this was not possible and to contact groupon, we said we were very unhappy with the situation and his conduct, his customer care was disgusting. he then said if we not happy to get out of his shop, opened the door and asked us to leave. whilst standing outside in disbelief, some nearby shop keepers came out and said this sort of thing happnes all the time, that the shop has a bad reputation due to the mananger and his satff., i attempted to go back in the shop, but they then locked the door and swore at me.
this place should not be trading, the girls had hole in her clothes, i doubt weather any of them have any qualififcations, and the shop was very dirty.

I managed to redeem a voucher bought through groupon yesterday, after having my first appointment cancelled, from the moment I walked in felt uncomfortable, no real waiting area, no warm friendly staff to greet you. I had asked if I could swap my facial to another treatment but told NO !! ok fair enough i'll just have my 1 hr massage, of which ended up being 40 mins...... got shown upto the room upstairs, the blankets that were on the beauty couch, felt really oily, so obviously these hadnt... Te 'beauty' salon is owned by an exceptionally rude man, who clearly never went to charm school! His attitude is intolerable towards customers. I wish I had read all the other reviews before booking with them via Groupon. They appear to be fully booked all the time, this is due to the ridiculously low prices they offer for treatments. This is meant to be a pampering place for women and is owned by a VERY RUDE MAN. He has no skills in how to treat people. He shouts, is extremely insulting and derogatory to his customers. He changes appointments at short notice without apology and is extremely unprofessional. They seriously need to go on customer service training and make major improvements in how to talk to their customers.
