I made the mistake of switching from AXA PPP to health care to save some money. What a mistake that was, they are truly atrocious in every way. They take forever to reply to emails, they only cover a selected few hospitals, and then limit it further by only covering certain consultants. So they might recognize the consultant you want to see, but not the hospital, or vice-versa, and then will refuse to pay.
In fact they do everything they can to avoid paying, almost everything I've claimed for they've tried to get out of, either by part paying or refusing to pay at all. The latest, I specifically asked them for a list of physio's they covered, they gave me a list so I booked my appointment. When the invoice was sent directly to them, they said they'd only pay a portion of the fee. Another instance, I had to visit the NHS part of a hospital that they covered, as that was the only area that had the equipment that was needed, so again, they only partly covered it. I paid the balance myself, but spent the next 2 months chasing them as they didn't pay their portion. In the meantime being threatened by debt collectors etc because they hadn't paid.
Please, please, please, take my advice, and don't use this company under any circumstance, it's far better to pay slightly more and get, proper, trustworthy cover than this shambles of a company. If I could move, believe me I would, but getting someone to cover pre-existing conditions is difficult, being on the NHS would be preferable to being with health-online.
