I had been a 40-a-day smoker for about 24 years. Several times I tried to quit this horrid habit of mine. I tried going cold turkey, smoking herbal cigarettes, smoking electronic cigarettes and chewing tons of nicotine chewing gums............none of these helped me stay away from cigarettes for more than 10-hours. My son used to be ashamed of me when he used to see me lighting one cigarette from the smouldring remains of the earlier one. I really tried very hard but just could not stop till I read Allen Carr's "Easy way to stop smoking". I completed reading this book on the 3rd day of starting to read the book..............and turned into a Happy Non-smoker. Thank you Allen Carr and his team for saving my life and the life of millions like myself.

It's now over eight years since this book completely changed my life. I now run and have more energy than I did twenty years ago. I pick up copies of this book from charity shops etc and pass them on to others. Of all the people that I have given a copy of this book to, only one person still smokes, the reason, he hasn't read it yet! Allen Carr was a genius.

The man is a genius! I truly hope his name goes down in History as the man who helped the world to quit smoking. He removes all fear and physcological dependency on nicotine before you stop, so that when you do...all you are left with is a mild pang for nicotine which you know will pass within a relatively short period of time. I think the key is to stay focussed and perservere, as although it is easy to stop using his method, it is also easy to have a weak moment and kid yourself that cigarrettes are somehow still your friend. (they aren't of course) they never were. Sounds strange thing to say but I actually feel cheated that they (the cigarettes) managed to deceive me for so long. This is where I think I will succeed for good this time....I truly now get it that cigarrettes were never my friend....in any way, shape or form. I was just relieving the addiction for nicotine over and over again. Have smoked 20 a day for 30 years! I now look forward to renewed energy and to no longer by physically and mentally dragged down by this insidious, drug addiction. I truly thank you Alllen Carr

A friend recommended this book having used it to quit eight years ago. Like most smokers I've 'given up' loads of times in the past but always succumbed shortly afterwards, usually following a night out drinking. During my previous attempts I've always had something in the back of my mind saying to me that I would smoke again one day but NOT THIS TIME... After reading Allen Carrs book I feel completely free for the first time in nearly twenty years. I've been a happy non-smoker (yes you read correctly) a happy non-smoker for nearly a month and not only do I not want a ciggarette, I know I will never ever smoke again... A very bold statement I know but something has clicked inside me and I now see smoking for what it is! I am so happy to be free from the weed and if I can do it then anyone can. Don't take my word for it just read the book with an open mind.

I went to Allen Carrs clinic in Manchester on 2nd September 2012. I cannot believe how good it was. I have not smoked since but more than that I have not wanted one. It was so amazing. I would recommend it to anybody. Well worth the money.

What a book! I was very sceptical when I borrowed this book from a mate at work, but it had worked for a couple of the guys so thought I would be worth at least reading. From start to finish I couldn't put it down, so when the book told me to have my last cigarette I was a little taken aback. Still, I didn't it and I can now say I am no longer a slave. 20 a day to ZERO!

Mr. Carr You go on and on about nothing. Your book was like a frustrating, inexperienced lover who continued going to all the wrong places. Yes, this must have been your EASYWAY to make money.

In 2002 I was selected to be a volunteer driver at the Manchester Commomwealth Games. This meant I would be based in the athletes village. It suddenly stuck me that there would be very limited opportunities to smoke in that location! I had wanted to stop so this was a real motivation. A friend had used Alan Carr's book and stopped and recommended it. I bought the book, followed the advice and got myself ready. On the 25th of June 2002 I went to the place I had had my FIRST cigarette, (at the age of 9 years, 38 years previously),got my tobacco and papers out and rolled my LAST cigarette. When I finished I walked away and 3 weeks later when I met Paula Radcliffe (the athlete) there wasn't a hint of cigarette smell about me. Ten years on I am a non-smoker thanks to this book.

I had serious doubts about the book. I friend had read it 10 years prior and always said, "Just read the book". I read the same book and completed it 2 days ago. I was 20 to 30 a day 12 year smoking veteran. From yesterday I'm a ex smoking believer. I had tried numerous times to give up smoking within the past 4 years. I tried the gum, the spray, etc. If only I "JUST READ THE BOOK". Allen makes so clear and so simply easy to stop. I can now see why he has a 90% success rate. If you want to give up, read the book, follow the simple instructions, enjoy the rest of your life. It's really that easy.

This is an absolutely phenomenal book especially for people who are into smoking. The tips provided here will definitely help smokers to overcome the habit provided they are serious about shunning it.

I suppose I had a decent headstart because I was totally ready to quit and have managed to quit very easily in the past but it wasn't like this time. This time I'm 100% certain I will never touch a cigarette again - In my review on my blog I added something which helped me loads. I chain smoked my last four cigarettes to leave a very unpleasant lasting memory. They made me feel pretty ill. Definitely a good idea I found.

I have to say I have had this book now for almost a whole year. It sat under my ashtray of all places. Every night I would look at the inside cover and be petrified of what it said. Stop Smoking without withdrawl and non of the horrific side effects. Yes that made me scared. 2 nights ago I decided to take the chance and read the book. Why should I be scared of a book, that will ultimately help me? Well I read the book and now I know why. I finished the book after 5 hours of straight reading, I smoked during the reading and I had my last cigarette at the end of the book. It is a awesome book to read. I really should have read it a year ago when I purchased it, but I am hard headed, stubborn and need a good kick in the rear sometimes. This is a MUST READ for everyone who puffs a couple of puffs to the 5 pack a day smoker. Its a book that costs less than 3 packs of cigarettes, cheaper than patches, gum and way cheaper than chantix which is really dangerous. Read it, understand it, act on it and become it. If I can do it you will be able to do it.

My partner and I had wanted to quit smoking for about a year before we got this book. One of my mates at work swore by it. He said that you'd keep smoking while reading it, but by the end you wouldn't touch another cigarette ever again! We felt that was a big claim, and probably worked for some but not everyone. I have to say, this book really changed our lives! After talking and talking about quitting, we both thought we'd never do it. We didn't want to surround our children with harmful smoke, and we were sick of constantly walking outside at parties just to poison ourselves. We both read the book, and I quit on June 30 2010 and my partner quit on July 1 2010. Since then we haven't even had a drag. We can go to pubs, parties, and even walk down the street with people who are smoking and it doesn't even tempt us. We still get smoking dreams sometimes - but they aren't in regards to missing it, they are more about the bad feelings surrounding falling off the wagon. We don't want to go back to that lifestyle and are so happy we decided to do this. Get this book! It won't let you down!

I got the book on the 16th April and quit on the 17th April. I had smoked heavily for over 20 years. EVERYONE has said they didn't think I would last 3 days let alone 4 weeks and 4 days (as of today). I can't see myself EVER smoking again. I don't know how the book helped and I don't care! IT JUST DID. I bought a second hand copy for just over £2.00 and have saved over £200 since. GET THE BOOK IF U WANT TO STOP SMOKING.

I've ready this book three times now, each time in the hope of miraculously not wanting/needing to smoke when I got to the end. And it has never worked for more than a few hours for me.
I never had that "a-hah" moment while I was reading, and although it all made sense, it was never powerful enough for me to quit.
I have since started on the medication Champix, and have quit for over two weeks now and everything's going well.
This book is definitely work a try because it does work for a lot of people, unfortunately I just wasn't one of them.

I had tried many other methods of quitting. None lasted. I just celebrated 4 years smoke-free and it only took me the two weeks I spent reading Allen Carr's guide for quitting smoking for women. My husband had just left after 32 years. I picked up the book because I felt isolated by my smoking. The book just resonated with my desire to change my life...so, yes, I was motivated. But I had always looked at smoking as my "stress-reliever". Nothing is more stressful than a divorce you don't want yet I was able to quit in the middle of one. And I haven't had one thought about going back to that smoking lifestyle in the last 4 years. Read the book... you have nothing to lose and a whole new life to gain! Thank you Allen Carr.

I was a 40 plus a day smoker sick of the health risks and the rising cost and the mess of ash everywhere had heard a few times the name Alen Carr and there was a copy right in front of me at the library so took it home read it in around 3 hours and couldn't wait to finish it and stop smoking that was 3 weeks ago have not touched one cigarette since and have been out to the pub and had a stress filled 2 weeks with life not withdrawal had 1 day where really had to stop myself going to buy cigs but that was ignored wish I had read this book years ago its changed my life thank you and I have tried several times prior to this with will power and patches and smoked again within days.

Allen Carr's Easyway to Stop Smoking simply gave me back my life. I don't care if anyone is sick to death hearing it!

I started smoking when I was 11 years old. I tried the patch and medication to quit smoking about nothing worked. I bought the book when I was 27, I am now 31 and have been smokefree for five years. I have never looked back a single day of my life. This book made quiting smoking effortless. I recommend it to eveyone.
