For a Device that claims its self to be DNLA compatible which many consumers would like in order to connect to their many devices it falls short. I tested it with my 2012 Samsung Smart TV and it doesnt work. I eventually found that this is due to the firmware that Western Digital (WD) ships as default has an old version of Twonky media server which is not totally compatible. If you buy this product beware you need to upgrade your twonky licence (which cost money) and install it using ssh. Apart from being a computer expert WD support tells me that this invalidates the warranty. I haven't checked any other WD mylive firmware but my guess is that they probably use similar firmware. So well done to Western digital claiming it to be DNLA compatible which its not and also consumers to purchase it without any indication on the packaging apart from saying "Its DNLA compatible". WD don't seem to be to bothered about whilst they are selling these unit but perhaps Trading standards should be informed!! Certainly does not DNLA out of the tin !!!
