“SUN IN SPRAY IN HAIR LIGHTENER DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT”

Written on: 29/09/2011

I used this product (SUN IN SPRAY IN HAIR LIGHTENER) as recomened on the bottle. After about 4 months of use (and this was not daily but I would say I used it in my hair only on the weekends) I noticed the hair at the temples of my head turing wirey and kinky. When it was finally determined by my hair dresser that this was what was causing this problem (she was horrifed that I had even used this) my hair is so chemically damaged it will take it to fully grow out to remove all the damage. My hair is kinky, spongy and breaking. This product once sprayed in the hair does not wash out but continues to work daily whenever heat or the sun touches your hair. It does not tell you this on the bottle but only recomends to try on a patch of hair (which I did for one week). This product takes a number of months to fully do its damage and once done your only recourse will be to grow your hair out and have it cut often. Please do not use this product. Please talk to your hairdresser and I am sure he/she will be able to tell you horror stories they have seen in regards to this product and the damage done to clients hair.

Im so glad i read this review!! i have been using a sheer blonde 'go lighter' product. It does exactly the same as sun in. On the first use i was really pleased but after the fifth use my hair would kink up at the roots and felt really strange, then when i dried my hair it just felt like a nasty dry mass of crimped hair. It completely drys your hair out and now i have noticed my hair breaking in places. I cant believe that it doesnt state anywhere on the bottle that this product can completely damage your hair (which is exactly what it has done) it has also gone a nasty orange colour now that i have discontinued use of this product and my scalp is dry and itchy!! Toni and guy now dont want to put highlights in my hair for fear of it breaking from the root so i am now stuck with it as it is :( not happy!!

The wiry effect is because your hair is dry. It's a bleaching product so it would obviously dry out your hair and make it frazzled
