I love vibrant hair colours, so bought Loreal Feria Violet Vendetta, because, as my hair is a light/medium mousy brown, the examples on the side of the box showed it would show up as vibrant as the front image suggested.
How disappointed to find it more of a dark wine colour, fading to a muddy wine colour.
You only have to see what colour the water is when you rinse it out to know it's not purple, the run-off looks as red as blood, fading to pink. A proper purple colour is on the blue spectrum, and when I used to dye my hair blue/black, the rinsed run-off was lilac (blue spectrum.
I still use this as I've found no alternative to give me a vibrant colour without resorting to bleach (something I can't do as my hair breaks very easily), but I do think Loreal should get their act together - if they're promising purple, they should deliver purple - it can obviously be done, as they do a blue/black.
