I have naturally dirty blonde hair with natural light blonde highlights from the sun. My hair is long, thick, and quite healthy. Yesterday I purchased Loreal Feria's ultra light blonde. I have gone bleach blonde before and loved it. I did everything I was supposed to, mixed the dye correctly, saturated my hair and let sit for 45 minutes. I rinsed and then put in the conditioner for two minutes, rinsed again.....but when I looked in the mirror my hair was ORANGE! I had bits and pieces of really light blonde, patches of dirty blonde, but the rest of my hair was a trashy looking orange. I hopped in the shower right away and washed my hair, that toned the orange down a little bit. I took another shower this morning, but haven't noticed a difference. I am very upset with how it turned out, not to mention, the dye has fried the ends of my hair so I now am using V05 conditioner in hopes to turn that around. I rarely dye my hair, I'm 16 years old and have only dyed it twice, once in the salon, and this is my second time but using a box dye. My hair came out nothing like the picture on the box, and it said ON THE BOX that if I have dirty blonde hair, it would come out as a beautiful light blonde. Those with brown hair, red hair, black hair, it would all come out different but still BLONDE. Nope, I got orange hair. I'm going back in today to pick up a brown dye and dying it back, because this really does look terrible. LADIES, if you have a light blonde/dirty blonde hair like me you should refrain from bleaching it out of the box, brown works just fine, but go any lighter...and it very well could turn orange. The exact same thing happened to my mom and she has dirty blonde hair as well.
