My parter has now been a member for a year At the Benton site and tried to cancel the contract with 4 different members of staff! Not one of them passed the message on and got this job done! Meaning he is still getting charge for a membership he no longer even goes to! They make it impossible to cancel! Absolute joke! Xercise4less are a horrible company who purposely go out of their way to find faults in other members of staff and constantly make them feel like their job is at risk. Certain people like myself and others, constantly went out of their way to help the company, go th extra mile sort of thing, work overtime, very lengthy shifts without required breaks unless you asked them on more than 3 occasions and gave 1 hours notice at least because the manager 'forgets', forced to work in distressing… Read Full Review

I deliberately bought a rolling monthly contract inorder to leave when it suited me; apparently this isn't possible at all !!! It's the only gym I know that you have to give 30 days notice in writing, read the small print. I cancelled my direct debit assuming like other gyms that was it. £25 admin fee for letter to say I have to give 30 days notice in writing. After reading the reviews looks like I'm not the only ones having problems. I had exercise my rights to cancel my membership before the Hounslow gym had opened and as a precaution I had also cancelled my direct debit. The Hounslow Membership team were also informed and were very unhelpful and were only concerned in getting members in and not why I had changed my mind. I have now received a letter from a direct debit collection company called Harlands saying that I had owed £19.99 plus £25 admin fee. Joined the gym in hull last year signed a 12 month contract. I cancelled and gave my 30 day notice only to be told I have to make a 13th payment because there is no record of my cancellation and it's a rolling contract so u have to make 13 payments on a 12 month contract. Me and my partner sent an email to cancel then stopped the direct debit. We then received a letter stating we did not go through the proper procedures and they had not received the email and had to pay £69.98 each to cancel, after a lot of arguing to and fro we eventually ended up paying £29.99 each or be taken to court. myself and my hubby joined this gym and wished we hadn't when joining we were told oh yes its a great gym I explained i prefer going to classes and was told there's loads of classes I did point out that as we were joining in July the timetable available was for Spring obviously out of date but was reassured it would be much the same. we were told there's no need to an induction as staff will show you how to use machines, when we did start going there was no classes I liked that were available… Read Full Review

I am currently attending this gym in order to lose weight. However when i joined this gym i paid an extra £45 to get a personal trainer for anytime now for the past 3 months i've been trying to get one, all they do is tell me to leave a name & number or they give me numbers that don't even exist when i call. This has fustrated me to the point where i don't even bother about it anymore, but i am going to put a complaint through to the gym manager and hopefully get this sorted. A basic gym for a good price - until you want to cancel! It's clear they have no concept of customer service - I cancelled and was then faced with a debt letter, which I contacted them about both by visiting them (no manager available) and emailing. “Not worth the hassle”

It is not worth the hassle getting a membership at this gym!!! My partner went in the gym and filled in a cancellation form. The following month, he was charged again so he cancelled his direct debit. I rung the gym to double check his cancellation had gone through AND IT HADN'T (liability with the staff in the gym don't you think??) and they basically said he hadn't been in to cancel. My son cancelled his 1 month rolling contract in April 2015, the months later still taking money out of his account & also demanding a admin fee for none payment, it's took somebody from another one of their gyms to help suggest you take out a 12 month contract & then cancel it, cos by the time your contract has ended the cancelation paper will be sorted. I cancelled in March , in writing, hand delivered personally to the Gym. They proceeded to take the next months payment. I then cancelled my direct debit and thought no more about it. A couple of months later I got a letter from Harlands asking for £65. I rang them and wrote to them. They told me to take it up with the gym. The gym told me to take it up with membership services. I cancelled because I moved away and everyone informed me that this was fine, and would be dealt with. Apparently not. AVOID, the cheap fees are offset by their atrocious customer service. I will not recommend this gym to any one. I have given 3 times cancellation applications and all the times, they promised that they will just take one month fees and after that they will cancel direct debit but its more 3 months and money is going from my account. I cancelled my direct debit in frustration so I not notice with penalty fees. Its my money which is wasting and I can not do anything!!!!! I find it very disgraceful how iv missed 1 payment by 4 days and iv been fined £35 and if I don't pay it by the 17th July otherwise further charges. I think it's discusting it's like them who own it haven't missed a payment. Id advise no one to join.
