I ordered a 14 day pass to try them out. I got there and struggled to find them. There was a swimming pool there and finally I saw it in an obscure location on only 1 side of the building away from the main approach.
I walked around the building and spoke to a couple of young men who were having a cigarette to confirm where the entrance was. One told me they were open in 8 minutes 07.00am and to go around to the front (the one with no Harpers sign above it!)
I went and stood there along with over a dozen others in the rain until the door was unlocked at 07.01. The staff were already there just waiting for the exact opening time I guess. By the way my watch is exact I set it every Monday from GMT an old habit formed from a long career in the Army.
The man at the front desk was the same man I had spoken to around the back.
So a health club with a professional appearance? No. He stank of cigarettes had numerous large rings on his fingers and dark rings around his eyes. I was told I had to have an induction before using the gym "it's the law" I had already tried other gyms and filled out the necessary health questionnaire but no induction. I can only work out I the morning and was told the 1st person I could see would be in 4 days time!
My point is the 1st person you are greeted with does not give the impression a health club should, instead a smell of cigarettes and look of late nights neither him or the other man could spell weights never mind lift them. I have been training with weights for 20 years I do not need an Induction.
Try Greens much better, no induction and fit healthy looking staff who look like they belong in a fitness centre.
