I paid up front for 12 months 18th June 2012 (£390). I did not have my glasses with me so I could not see all the small print, I knew I was becoming a member but did not realize I was signing a no money back agreement, I was not verbally informed before I signed either. I asked to cancel my membership today but was told I could not get any money back, I think this is scandalous. I was also informed that if any one should try and cancel their monthly payment scheme with them that they would be persued by debt collectors to recoup a full 12 months payments. I should have been truthfully and verbally been informed of what I was signing, but I suppose there is no honour amongst thieves who hide behind a contract.

Hello, it is regretable that you feel you have been misinformed. A gym membership is just like a mobile phone bill, or SKY TV contract, it's for 12 months. You can't get out of it because you just don't feel like going anymore! You were happy to sign the contract (glasses or not!) so it is only reasonable for this company to expect you to uphold it!
