I have been a member for David Lloyd Club in Bushey for over a decade and have visited less and less over the years as the facilities and customer service has deteriorated.
I would describe many of the new group of younger staff there as having a poor service industry attitude where loyal members are no better off than they would be visiting their local authority pool, which is where I will taking my children from now on.
Among the problems are the pool itself, which can be dangerous. It has the various sharp tiles at the edges and on the bottom and sides. They are not easily visible, Both of my children and myself have been cut (sliced) over the last year with deep bleeding cuts as a result. It goes without saying that no apology was forthcoming to the latest quite deep 2 inch long cut to my foot.
We have had rude staff, slow meals and broken plastic in our drinks. I’ve lost count of the annoyances.
The members lounge has recently become nothing more than a large Costas coffee house.
Paying a family membership and over a long term, affords no respect and very little privilege.
In the end I have decided to cancel but despite my complaints, they STILL expect you to continue to pay for a 3 months cancellation period and will not waiver it despite the issues. It will cost us nearly £700 just to leave!
