“one of the worst experiences for my family”

Written on: 21/09/2011

Okay once you earn enough to be a member at David Lloydfor 's is in itself an asoirational milestone for many middle class households. We were soon to find out how wrong wevwere to sign up to David Lloyd's. We went up to dl swindon after my baby girl was born to have some exercise incorporated in our family routine. This was supposed to be an outlet for stress that many first time parents encounter. The staff member we met was polite (hehas since left DL swindon). After 6 months of membership mybjob was transferred to an area which didn't have a david Lloyd. We were at the time of joining verbally reassured that there will be no tie in clause. We were told that the 12 month contract could be waived off at iscretion and rarely practised. I agreed to sign on those reassurances. When we joined the gym we realised how non co urtious and indifferent the staff were, majority of whom were young more interested in their mobiles then being of any help. When we cancelled things took another ugly turn. They said verbal and e.aol cancellation. Isnt sufficient you would need to provide originals of your new work contract.and a written letter to go with it. So we personally visited thisdragged the membership into next month. Then came the blow that we need to pay next 3 months membership from the next Calender month. This was outrageous to us. So we cancelled our direct debit as this would equate to 500 pounds for us. Now they are pursuing us with debt collectors.multiple written and emailed requests to them to negotiate have fallen on deaf ears. They just don't seem to care. You've been warned. This company is a scam.
