“Unprofessional to say the least, Very Very...”

Written on: 02/09/2012 by TotalKM (1 review written)

DW Fitness recently took over the Ozone Health Club in Oxford, where my self- defence club has been hiring a studio to run our classes for 4 years.
We were given written notice 1 month prior to the takeover, So I set about trying to get hold of the new managers to find out if we would still be able to hire the studio to continue running our classes.
Over the space of a month I tried speaking to someone at least 6 times by phone. Having had a fantastic relationship with the previous owners I was sure my messages were being passed on. However no one from DW Fitness returned any calls.
With less than a week to go before our class were due to restart following our summer break I once again phoned the new gym owners and asked to speak to the new manager regarding our classes. This time I was in luck, she was actually there, next to the receptionist who answered the phone. The receptionist was aware of who I was and seemed eager to help, so said "one moment she just here, I'll hand you over"... This seemed very promising as it was clear my messaged had been passed on to the new staff and they were aware of my reason for calling.
Imagine my shock when I overheard the manager in the background saying "Oh S***, does he know I'm here... tell him I'm busy"

Not "Oh yes let me speak to him" or "Tell him I'm busy I'll return his call later" just "I'm busy" not to mention the unprofessional pre-text.

I am hugely disappointed in the level of professionalism of this club manager and her response. I can only presume she had known about my lines of enquiry fr a while and judging by her attitude, either hadn't bothered or simply was not professional enough to hold a simple conversation with a potential client, who was already bringing existing business to the previous club owners.

Of course I have not heard back from her since and no doubt I will not.
All I can say is Good Luck to DW Fitness who are starting a new venture with a manager like that. This will just add to a lot of the negative reviews I have read about the company on various forums across the internet.
