“PARETO PYRAMID SCHEME - ASSESSMENT DAY FROM HELL!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KarsonMcDougall351 on 10/03/2016

After spending the best part of 7 hours in a room full of 50 graduates desperate for a job in sales I can safely say I should of gone with my gut feeling and not gone.

I have wasted not only my time but also my money on attending a day that was an absolute waste of time.

At the start we had a terribly boring uninformative lecture from whom I can only suppose was the manager for that particular assessment day. This lecture included going around the room and asking each candidate to tell the rest of the room their name, star sign and a non academic achievement.

Now I have friends in sales very successful people and no your star sign does not affect how you work so this from the star is ridiculous stupid and time wasting.

I may add that the clients they get you to meet you may never actually meet.

The 'clients' sit in the corner and as I watched one fall asleep and the others stare out of the window as the man with zero sales experience blathered on about where Paretos name derived from; I myself knew that at that point maybe I should've cut my losses and gone home with a happy meal.

After I explained to the man who would not leave me alone until I turned up to the pareto assessment day that I could not afford to come he proceeded to inform me that lunch was served in the offices - The lunch itself was a measly packet of multi pack walkers crisps with some over diluted cheap squash so eat before you go because I have seen a better spread at a funeral.

After enduring the boring morning lecture given by a man whom doesn't seem to have any experience in sales at all we all then progressed like cattle at a meat market to group activities which were coupled with attendees who scrupulously stared down on everyone and their name tags writing reviews on what everyone was doing.

The pareto pyramid scheme is disgusting to say the least - if you truly wish for a successful career in sales and not just cold calling people and ruining their day then I highly suggest approaching a company head on.

Successful companies do not require time from pareto as they attract good candidates already. Put the effort in and take the time to apply yourself to job roles you want to be in don't let this shamble of a company deter you from sales with their cold calling job offers.

I have been completed mis sold the assessment day and it was everything I dreaded and those now I have 7 hours of my life I will sadly never get back.

I can safely say I will again swear people off Pareto and tell friends and colleagues that if they want a SUCCESSFUL career in sales then to apply to the company directly.
