“Review of Graduate Recruitment Bureau ”

The service and level of professionalism I received during my dealings with 'GRB' was below substandard. They do seem to have a reasonable amount of jobs advertised on their website the problems for me started after I had applied. Receiving a call I was invited to an interview at their offices. The interviewer (who will remain nameless) was brash and unprofessional in the way that they conducted not only themselves, but the meeting as a whole. This was even to the point of talking to me in a way which seemed only intended to wound without any constructive or inquisitive elements. They did not listen to what I was saying or take on board any points I made, instead attempting to force ideas on me about my own personality and what 'dreams' I had, an aspect which I found particularly peculiar considering this was 3 minutes into the interview. The interviewer belittled me, even ridiculing at times, about my experience and achievements to date. I found this very unnecessary because after all, they had my complete CV and cover letter before inviting me to interview.

Personally because of this experience I would never apply through 'GRB' again as it proved to be a complete waste of my time and money, an experience from which I can take away very few positives. I would never recommend them to anyone I considered a friend, or anyone at all for that matter. All in all, this was a thoroughly disappointing service.

We are sorry to hear you had this experience at GRB and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Although you posted in Sept 2011 we have only just discovered this website. We take dealings with all applicants with professionalism and integrity at all times so this report has prompted a further investigation into this specific matter. I am particularly surprised you mention it being a "waste of money" when we do not charge for any of our services. I have to add, this is extremely rare in the 15 years I have run this company and take pride on not only the graduates we match up with recruits but the overwhelming positive feedback my team receives. We will take your comments on board and may I wish you well in the future.

I made a full written complaint against the consultant in question at the time as well as speaking directly to yourself Dan. While it is true that you do not charge for your services, other costs were incurred while traveling to your offices for 'interview', costs which as an unemployed graduate were not to be sniffed at. I appreciate your apology but I am afraid to say it has had little effect. I am currently gainfully employed in the same industry as yourselves (an industry your consultant told me I was completely unsuitable for and one that I didn't want to enter into) and it remains the most wholly unprofessional experience of my working life. As this event is so rare I assume that you know precisely who I am and will expect you to be back in contact with me as per the results of your further investigation (you still have my details on your system).
