Garmin are often regarded as a leading sat nav developer. With a 20 year history and a massive range of products which includes the famed eTrex range of hillwalking GPS units and peaked with the Garmin Nuvi range, Garmin are seen as a global leader.
Garmin also include the Forerunner series for bikes and runners, a marine system for boat owners, avionics systems for pilots, and even the Garmin nuvifone, which is intended as a close rival to the Apple iPhone.
Garmin also offer a good service via their website, www.garmin.com, which includes access to services like Garmin downloads and updates, an online sat nav store, and Garmin accessories for the gadget-philes!

Item: Garmin C510 Deluxe
The Garmin C510 Deluxe is easy to use, robust, no problem during 3 years with it in France. The design isn't the best but a good choice overall.

Finding airports and hotels is easy because they are already on the database. I also found a carpark for a long walk in the North York Moors by entering only the map reference.

Street level mapping of Europe and North America is a real bonus. Carry case allows it to be safely put in pocket and used when cycling on holiday.
Well worth the small extra investment to obtain the long list of "extras" missing form cheaper models. Would recommend this to anyone and have actually purchased two ...
