“Bad Customer Service”

Can't comment on actual plants as have been waiting well over 7 weeks for a plants that says on their website 'delivery within 28 days' Another order I placed still says payment pending and hasn't even moved onto being processed! I emailed and did not get a satisfactory replay. I have now replied and asked for orders to be cancelled and refunded as they were quick to take that out of my bank! “Very Disappointed, never again”

I ordered the ground cover collection of 30 plants at the back end of winter. They arrived promptly with instructions to plant them a.s.a.p. I thought surely this is the wrong time of year but as I am an amateur, and thought they wouldn't be delivered too early for planting, I put them in the ground. It took all afternoon. “Tiny plants, mould and slow”

I was surprised by how small the plants were (e.g., Heuchera, Campanula). In addition, a lot of rotted leaves and several of the rhizomes I order (Rhubarb, Dicentra) were covered in mould. 2 years ago I endured a bad experience with this company, leaving a suggestion about the way Parker exercises his business. Foolishly, I put in a further order this month and again, nothing but problems, promises, more problems, suggesting rubbish at worse, incompetence at best. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with the processing of your order. Your order date of 2 March 2016 was scheduled for delivery within 28 days.
We are still within our time limit for the plants to be despatched, however we acknowledge that we were unable to respond as quickly as we would have liked to from your first phone call on 8 March 2016
We were disappointed you did not give us the opportunity to rectify any problems or delays we may have had. Your insistence on speaking to the Managing Director rather than resolving the problem with either our Despatch manager or our Customer Service manager we felt was unreasonable, especially when both managers were trying to offer the completion of your order free of charge along with a full refund.
Despatching plants which are a living product can take longer to despatch unlike any manufactured product, we have to ensure all stock is available from our growers to be sent in one parcel rather than several small individual parcels.
As we previously informed you by email and letter a full refund has been issued for your order.

“Poor quality mouldy tulip bulbs”

I ordered tulip and other bulbs and the quality of the tulips we're so awful (mouldy and shrivelled) I didn't plant them and purchased others from a more reliable supplier. I emailed and got a very curt reply about not storing them properly!! There appears to be no customer care whatsoever and presumably they don't care about repeat customers! “Awful. Misleading descriptions, no response from cust serv”

I ordered two grape vines. The description said they would be delivered in 45 to 50 cm pots. They were delivered in 4cm pots. I emailed three times to ask for a refund and suggest they change the description on the website with no response . “poor quality plants and unreliable bulbs”

I have ordered plants and bulbs from Parkers for years because they have such a wide range. I have always had quite a few losses but put it down to my poor gardening. Last autumn I marked where I planted my new bulbs and plants and took particular care to monitor their progress. Two out of three Eremurus bulbs failed, all five Cyclamen bulbs stayed dormant and the Acanthus Spinosus did not survive the winter. I ordered 3 set of plants Marigolds, Hydrangeas and HT Roses (10 pack). Marigold plugs were replaced twice and both times dead. Then they had forgotten to replace the 3rd time and we were then out of season. They gave me a refund. Hydrangea was of a poor quality and the plants very small (for the price they are charging). I purchased 23 plants from the above, 17 of them were dead or close to it when delivered. As has been previously said the plants I received looked nothing like the mature plant pictured on the website. I know that this may sound naive but although I didn't expect a flourishing bush a foot high (as shown on the website), the tiny 5cm plants where a disappointment. “sub standard plants”

I have just purchased some Alpine Phlox which have arrived in a very sorry state. They are very small plants and some of them are so small and rotting that they will not grow. I have advised Parkers of this, but have been told to plant them and they will grow. They must think that we have no knowledge of gardening. You cannot grow rotting plants. Poor value even if they survive, most of them have not. Very small plants, could be described as a plug in a large pot. Shrubs are a stick in a pot about 12 inches high. I am stocking a new garden, so I went to Parkers to pre-order bulbs for Autumn planting. I've been buying bulbs from Parkers for years so I know they are very reliable. I also ordered a shrub (Chaenomeles, pot-grown) and three perennials (Veronica, pot-grown) at full price.
