I spent 6 weeks with SLV this summer and i can honestly say i didn't want to leave. The projects are so versatile and the days/weeks genuinely fly by. I learnt so much and have come away with skills i never would have gained without SLV. The projects can be challenging but at the same time so rewarding and it's great to see what a difference you really make. If someone had told me a year ago i was going to be spending my mornings teaching English to mechanics, afternoons swimming coaching and going on a safari at the weekend... i never would have believed them! I loved every second of my time in Sri Lanka and my confidence grew immensely. The brilliant staff, volunteers and home stay families help you every step of the way and Sri Lanka really begins to feel like your home. I made some fantastic friends and i hope that i'll be heading back to Sri Lanka myself one day! Thanks SLV :)
