I had such a fantastic time volunteering in Cambodia. I cannot praise the team for the hard work and numerous emails they answered for me after my friend was unable to travel with me. The work that was put in before my departurewas incredible and made me feel comfortable in going to a country I had never been to before.
The team in Cambodia were very friendly and made us all feel verywelcome. They gave us a two day orientation which included trying local fruits and they even travelled with the volunteers up to siem reap! They went completely out of there way in order to make sure I would enjoy my volunteering and be safe.
The volunteering itself was great!The only thing I struggled with was the lack of curriculum or information of what previous volunteers had taught. I found it quite daunting planning lessons when I was unsure of what the children knew and didn't know. Apart from this I cannot explain what an amazing experience it was to meet and be apart of thechildren's learning! They were all so well behaved and eager to learn which made my job much easier!
Overall, I can definately say I had two of the most amazing weeks of my life. I feel like I walked away with a sense of achievement and feel like I also left the children with some new knowledge to help them.
I cannot thank the team enough for the hard work that was put in to planning the trip and I can definately say that I hope to use them again in the future and will recommend my friends to too!
