In august I spent 4 weeks working in a slum school, a hospital and at the orphanage and it was amazing. During my stay I lived with a host family and it was really a wonderful experience. Kranti and her family were really nice to me and they made sure I never lacked anything. They provided me with delicious meals and made my birthday one I will never forget. I would recommend everyone to stay at a host family, because it really helped me to integrate with the Indian people and I soon found my way in Faridabad.
The co-coordinators of the Plan My Gap Year program were very flexible, because my initial project was the orphanage. But because I loved going to slum school and the hospital, I ended up with a combination of the three. I had an amazing time in all three of them and I gained a lot of knowledge from the children and supervisors here in India.
Overall, I had an amazing and great time in India and I would recommend everyone the volunteering projects at Plan My Gap Year!!
