Lattitude helped me embark on the best experience of my life so far. I volunteered in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in the Indian Himalayas, and it was both a life changing experience and a ridiculous amount of fun. It's a great start to being able to volunteer abroad, and they provide lots of support before, during and after the placements (the after part is important-reverse culture shock is unsettling, to say the least). I ahve them to thank for a fantastic time, in which i learned new things, experienced new cultures and met amazing people. Also, had brilliant fun riding yaks, hanging out with other travelers and walking around a mile in 40 degree heat at around 90% humidity in a part of Dehli where the ATMs had armed guards just to get beer- well maybe that last one wasn't fun, but it sure was memorable!
