“Great Ocean Rd”

Written on: 14/05/2013 by Olooli01 (1 review written)

Having now seen all that Australia has to offer; the amazing and friendly people, the beautiful beaches, ancient rain forests and spectacular cities - the Great Ocean Rd remains a highlight. Starting in the vibrant city of Melbourne, and finishing in the most underrated part of Australia - South Australia (aka. God's Country to the locals), everything in between was truly something to behold. In those three days, I met the most fun guide ever, saw the 12 apostles in all their incandescent... (read more)

“Unforgettable experience ”

Written on: 14/05/2013

I absolutely loved this experience. Made some great new friends, did things I never thought I would be able to do and defiantly got the best out of Thailand. Our tour guides where very helpful and great to be around. They made the 3 weeks we were with them the best possible and were always on hand if we had questions or queries. They made themselves more like friends rather than tour guides which I loved. One and possibly the only down fall was the group size. The maximum it said on gap 360... (read more)

I did the Absolute Peru tour, was absolutely thrilled with how well it was run, and found the Gap 360 staff helpful before departure, but none of the trip was actually run by Gap 360 - it was all G Adventures who were absolutely incredible whilst out there, and I would definitely recommend booking through them rather than Gap 360 as you get the same support and it´s the actual company which runs the tour. Costa Rica Adventure This was a fantastic trip and an amazing experience, I would recommend it to any body who's ready for an adventure, but not quite brave enough to set off completely alone. I travelled by myself, but once I met with the group I soon made friends with people of different ages and nationalities. I loved the fact that it was all pre-organised for me, I didn't have to worry about transport/hotel bookings, I just had to turn up with my bag at a certain place/time and... (read more)

Trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu has become a must-do for tourists all over the world and, as a result, it is incredibly easy to feel like just one more camera clutcher as you descend upon it. However, in choosing my tour, organised by G adventures, I honestly felt as though the experience was personally tailored to both my needs and wants and I was able to truly immerse myself in everything the four day trek had to offer. Thanks for this feedback. We’d like to reply to your comments.

Being a public holiday should not have affected your programme as the only event scheduled was the welcome dinner, which you did receive. We are sorry that the hostel was fully booked but your place should have been reserved. We are checking on what happened here and are looking into this.

We have a 24-hour support line, and this number is in your pre-departure information. It is a pity that you did not call us, as if you had alerted us to this problem we could have sorted it out for you on the spot.

Meeting instructions for the welcome dinner were in your pre-departure information so you should have known where and when to meet, that’s how the other girl you met knew this.

The office was closed on the bank holiday, but the orientation meeting was scheduled for the Tuesday, there were no activities planned for Monday as all businesses were closed for the holiday so it should not have affected you..

The people on the Absolute Oz programme have a different schedule and paid £599 which includes much more, including sandboarding, swimming and lots of excursions. You paid £299 for the Work Australia package, plus £220 for the working holiday visa being processed on your behalf so you were on a very different programme.

We are sorry that you had to wait to collect your bank details and other information on the Tuesday. I have taken up your comments with the Sydney office and will email you on this point. It is important to note that the Sydney office will provide help and jobs support for 12 months. If at any point you feel that you are not receiving this service please email us here in the UK and we will follow up for you.

For the £299 you receive

Airport transfer to the hostel
5 nights accommodation
12 months of job offers
Bank account set up
One to one consultations
CV review service
SIM card
Tax file number
Tax refund consultation
Welcome dinner and drink
Guided city tour
Coastal beach walk
12 months mail holding and forwarding
Free internet at office on weekdays
24 hour emergency helpline
Medicare organised
Accommodation tour

Please let us know if you are not receiving any of these services. Again, we are sorry that you feel that this is not good value, but once you have taken advantage of the 12 months of job offers and received the other services we hope you’ll change your mind.

We will refund you the first night’s accommodation and will be in touch by email to arrange this.
