“Awesome time in Kenya!”

Written on: 19/08/2014 by LeiaMcKinley262 (1 review written)

I volunteered in Kenya last month for three weeks. I had an absolutely incredible time. Agape's staff are always around to hep you with things but also are keen to let you take the lead with projects. I spent time teaching in a school but also got involved with a number of volunteer led projects that were being supported by the charity. I would really recommend doing some extra trips that you can book before you go. They are great value in comparison to what tourists have to pay and such… Read Full Review

“Ghana Music ”

Written on: 11/08/2014 by Powellbw437 (1 review written)

I had a fantastic time in Ghana and while it was a long time I was there, it went unbelievably quickly. I was teaching in 3 different schools and taught in the church every weekday. I also managed to play in church a couple of times! All the children were so motivated and ambitious learners and they progressed quick, I felt a bit guilty leaving after all their commitment! I was surprised how much I enjoyed Takoradi and the local area, it's a beautiful city and I was shown all corners of it. I… Read Full Review

South African trip Just thought I'd give you a heads up and share my thanks now that I'm back from my most amazing trip of a lifetime. you'll not be surprised to learn that I'm starting to save again so that I can return. The team in Africa were the most gracious hosts and I will be forever grateful to them for their warmth, generosity, enthusiasm and help during my time with them. the ranger at Bonamanzi reserve was someone I want to emulate, as she was so knowledgable and eager to share her… Read Full Review

“Tanzania troubles”

Written on: 06/08/2014 by Gilberttw491 (1 review written)

I returned from 4 weeks in Tanzania with Agape a few days ago, and whilst I had a fantastic time it was in no way because of Agape. Upon arrival in Tanzania, Agape pretty much ceased to exist. The programme was completely misleading, there was next to no in-country support, and if it wasn't for the friends I eventually made at the hostel then I would have booked a flight home after the first few days. Unless you're an incredibly independent person do not use this company. If you're about to go… Read Full Review

“Most amazing experience of my life ”

Written on: 13/08/2013 by Amycrockett99 (1 review written)

In cant actually describe how amazing the 3 and a half weeks I spent in Kenya with agape organisation was,! it was truly the most rewarding, fun-packed amazing experience I have ever done! I went by myself and did work in an orphanage, I meet so many other volunteers( who have become friends for life) and also meet so many kids that had nothing but yet were the kindest and happiest kids ever and have taught me a lot about life. I lived the orphanage and the aunties (main ladies) looked after us… Read Full Review

Written on: 24/07/2013

I heard about the great work Agape does through a presentation at my school led by the CEO of the organisation, Guillaume Lefevre. I was very interested in volunteering during the summer and had been searching for an affordable and reliable volunteering programme, and Agape Volunteers seemed to provide just that. A couple of friends and I decided to volunteer for 2 weeks on the orphanage placement, and I can honestly say that they were two of the most enjoyable, yet eye-opening, weeks I have… Read Full Review

“Truly inspirational Trip”

Written on: 23/06/2013 by oliverdinwoodie (1 review written)

I had the most incredible time in Ghana for a couple of reasons. Firstly I met the most amazing people, both volunteers and locals, many of which I am still in close contact with now. Its considerably cheaper than many of the other trips I looked at so great value for money. I felt like I was able to inspire people through teaching music as well as being inspired by learning so much myself. Another great thing about going with Agape is it isn't sugar coated, we lived with a beautiful family in… Read Full Review

“Kenya Trip To An Orphanage”

Written on: 07/06/2013

I spent 4 weeks in Kenya on the orphanage programme. I stayed with Susan and her two adorable girls Linda and Sylvia, and living with them was one of the highlights of my trip because I got a real host family experience. Susan was so welcoming and I really enjoyed our conversations, she taught me so much about Kenyan politics and culture and I was so grateful to her for sharing her life story and her hopes for the future with me. You will also never go hungry, her food is AMAZING! Schools in… Read Full Review
