“Customer service needs improvement”

Written on: 10/08/2012

Had a trip to the Westwood, Broadstairs store. Don't go often but when I do I sometimes buy something generally during sales.

I was with my daughter looking at items. They always say "hello" when you arrive and i suppose from that a friendly service would follow though I'm quite happy browsing and don't ask for help unless needed.

I just found that if you ask for help in the shop on sale items or are taking your time to choose the staff just are a bit abrupt. For such a nice shop, the level of niceties do not extend to the customer. Spent £80ish, felt stared at, told to move an item, when it was already on the surface where I'd found it, 5 of them in shop only 3 people looking around so no problems with being so busy.

Young girl with red hair the most pleasant. If you ring up the service seems much better as I heard two phone calls while I was there.

Would I go again? Yes if sale on, but not for customer sevice. Never heard once"can I help", " how you getting along", of course I'll do that for you. Instead a few abrupt comments. I never bothered to say goodbye, neither did they, walked out happy with my sale items ar least. Daughter commented that service should be 1, Overall given 2 because like what I bought and the shop not the staff is a lovely. Might I suggest that sale items are back corner rather than back middle, so as not to get in way of walk through to their office. Value for money on furniture and fashion items in sale.
