hit & miss

Some products are very good value for money. I bought the hemnes white bookcase and it was lovely to put together apart from one art of the instructions which weren't clear. it looks great and is pretty sturdy so hope it will last as it's solid pine.
But also bought hemnes solid pine black brown chest of drawers which were not so great as the wood at the front splintered off for no apparent reason. When I contacted Ikea they said nothing they can do as it's over a year old.
Ikea really need to start to let customers review their purchases but i suspect they won't do this until they improve the quality and durability of their ranges. I think the pine furniture now may be better quality and the price is certainly higher.
I ordered several pax wardrobes last year and was disappointed at the poor flimsy quality and the smell of formaldehyde so I returned them all and the wednesbury store accepted the return months later and refunded me in full which was good customer service and far better than any other furniture stores.
