I ordered a batch of things from Ikea online ten days ago. Order went through, charged my card, paid a tenner for delivery which is pretty steep but I assumed would be expedited courier of some sort. (given Argos do quick delivery for about a fiver).
Over a week later, items supposed to have already arrive, turns out haven't even been dispatched yet.
40m wait in a phone cue to find out why the stuff I've already paid for, with expensive delivery, which is now overdue the already lengthy delivery window hasn't even been picked.
Am offered a repeat attempt of items needed for xmas on the 17th... another week wait in the hope that it might actually arrive.
Turns out their backend systems have been designed by people frozen in ice since the 1800's and handling refunds, redeliveries is a turgid manual process.
At this point I bail, having wasted more time that actually going to the shop in the first place.
Whilst awaiting my small amount of easily picked stuff, numerous deliveries from amazon and other online retailers managed to make it.
