“Curtain poles and horrific service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by SallyHamilton on 04/05/2016

I went to the Plymouth store to buy 3 curtain poles and pairs of curtains. The person on the curtain department was not at all helpful. One of the poles I bought I found had no hangings in it as they had been taken out. I then had to go all the way to the Torquay store to get one which I did. The person on the curtain department was not at all helpful and the customer service definitely was not. Whilst waiting I was speaking to another customer who said 'why can they not at least say hello?'. Well surely they should say good morning or good afternoon how may I help you? Dream on! Surely this is basic training.
I then had issues with the longest pole, the curtains will not pull as it is an extendible pole and the curtain rings will not go over the extendible bit. I went back to the store and they again were unhelpful and rude, no change there then. I asked to speak to the manager who was just as bad and she said she would telephone head office. I could not wait so after five minutes I left and she later rang me, that was good as she did not leave her name or number! Are these people actually being paid to do their jobs because they are terrible.
I am a good customer of Dunelm but I have had enough. I now have a curtain pole that does not work and I have had to make three trips to the store to get it! Now I will have to go again and I cannot be the only person having problems with this item.
