I have owned this product since 2004 and like other reviewers, have had problems since the beginning with the need to defrost the freezer 2 or 3 times per year. I pointed this out several times during the warranty period but Hotpoint simply sent out an engineer who defrosted the freezer. On one occasion they suggested that I may be leaving the door open ! They replaced the control board, but that made no difference. All the freezer shelf trays became cracked or broken. I took out an insurance cover with Indesit through domestic and general and they immediately replaced the shelf trays! Recently the diplay panel started flashing. They said they could not get a replacement part, so they have given me a new unit - hurray. Unfortunately it's a Hotpoint.
