The service was great except for one glitz when they put a hold on the money I sent and has to go through a check clearing house, which took 4 days to go through and my sister ( my recipient) needed the money right away. I was very upset about it but the manager at Xoom's customer service centre, helped me out and even gave me a coupon for my fee and I was able to send money to my sister right away.

I was also put on "hold". My bank electronically transferred the funds to Xoom nearly immediately but they still refused to make the transfer until 4 days were up. Check clearing houses went electronic over ten years ago.
