They emphasise “obsolete” currencies that cannot be spent. However, the central banks of some countries e.g. Germany, Austria, Latvia, Estonia, Ireland, Lithuania offer indefinite exchange at HUGELY better conversion rate to Euro. Spain also will convert pesetas until 31 Dec 2020. When I asked them about this, they grudgingly acknowledged it to be correct.

My father had an assortment of old banknotes and coins from travelling the world when he was in the Royal Navy. He had no idea they were worth anything anymore, so was thrilled and surprised with the cheque that he got after I sent these to Leftover Currency for him. Their website was easy to use, and we got a cheque back within a week.

I have found left over currency to be a honest and straight forward company.the level of service and speed of transactions are excellent. Their procedure is easy to use and the web site is the same, I wish the company could take other countries coins, as I have plenty of them, but unlikely to visit the countries to spend them. Any time I have had a enquiry,it was dealt with quickly and courtesly.

I had some currency left over from the Faeroe Islands with no hope of changing it. I printed the form off the internet, filled it in and sent it off. My cheque arrived four days later. Great service!

Very good service, even though only exchanging a small amount of notes/coins.

Easy, prompt, did what they said they would do, purchasing obsolete European currency found in an old desk drawer. And this is a free service.

I had some left over foreign coins that I could not use and were useless for me. With this service I could turn "nothing" into money, which is great. Service also fast compared to all the varieties of coins that I sent.

I was also sceptical, but sent off my currency -- mostly obsolete European currencies replaced by the Euro -- anyway (what else to do with it?). I didn't put enough postage on the package and it took a while for the postal service to return it. In this time, I began to believe that either the service was not legit or sending money in the post was not reliable. I shared my concerns with the company and got an immediate call and was impressed with the professionalism of the staff. Finally, my faith in the postal service was restored when the package was returned. Sent it off again and received the email and cheque as advertised. Very personal service!

Despite all my reservations about the legitimacy of this company (even after reading the reviews) I thought that it was worth posting my collection of old swiss franc notes together with the online form. I was skeptical of anything returning, and ready to not expect anything. However, about a week later I got a cheque in the post (I opted for a cheque rather than give my bank details) and an email stating when to expect it! I got £16.63 back- exactly the amount I expected, quickly and promptly. Bravo!

No fuss! A straight forward form to download, fill in and send off in the post with the currency. Email confirmation came to say my cheque was in the post. Two days later the money was in my bank. I could not fault it!

I used LeftoverCurrency.com to exchange some old banknotes and coins I discovered while cleaning up a closet. I was actually planning to throw them away but I'm glad I didnt do that. Found this website on Google and decided to give it a go. The feedback on their site gave me some confidence but of course its their own site so they can publish what they want. But so decided to take a chance, the notes were only gathering dust anyway. It does feel a bit awkward to send money in the mail but I shouldnt have worried. Got a friendly confirmation email after 2 days and the money in my bank account a day after that, exatly the amount I had expected. A nice extra for my coming holiday. Recommended to anyone with old banknotes and coins in their drawers!
