Ford made the impressive looking Cougar between 1998 and 2001 and it gained a record for performance among many as well as its good looks. The front-wheel-drive Cougar is built on the mechanics of the excellent Ford Mondeo. It also has a reputation for reliability and so if you can find a low mileage version you are really in business. The Cougar also offers good practical benefits. There is a decent sized boot and the rear seats can be folded down which makes it attractive to the mature driver as well as someone who enjoys its style. The Ford Cougar is regarded as the best of the Cougar bunch with excellent levels of spec and great performance from its V6 engine. Over 50 review centre reviews and nearly a 100 pent recommendation rating so far.

    I bought my Cougar V6 24v 18 months ago with 50k miles on the clock with service history and only one owner and paid only £1600 for it, although today you can pick them up much cheaper - some going for as little as £850. I have found the Cougar to be a really great drive and lots of fun ...

    we have a 2000 special edition in yellow with 180.000 miles . the Ford Cougar V6 24v car is great , two alt. plus tires, brakes . got. it with 35.000 miles 5 yrs. age 180,000 could not have a better car..

    I love my Ford Cougar V6 24v. Had it 18 months and will keep it till it dies. Drive is fantastic although a little twitchy around the bends but wider tyres soon sorted that problem. Very very comfy on long drives and the Cougar X heated seats are a dream in the winter.

    Bought my Ford cougar V6 2 years ago 2000 on an X with 33k miles.
    Now done 53k miles, only thing i have needed to do is replace the battery, and that went the day the day was in for service.
