Looks good (Chrome version).
Good range of attachments.
Motor sounds reassuringly up to the job.
Easiest way to make breadcrumbs.
Simple to use.
Plastic bowl deteriorates very quickly when washed in the dishwasher.
Lid of plastic bowl has virtually broken apart, making it unusable.
Plastic gradually breaking off the blade of the main cutting attachment despite never having been washed in the dishwasher (this started to happen quite early on in its life; I guess the tiny bits of plastic which wore off over time ended up in my food!).
Spillage of liquid if you try to blitz soup (a blender is much better for that).
When using the smaller bowl to make sauces, it splashes over the lid and the main bowl too, which causes unnecessary washing up.
Only one speed setting plus pulse.
Replacement parts very expensive.
The machine itself seems to be solid and, as a machine which operates a motor at one single speed, it is fine. The plastic attachments - despite the great claims of the manufacturer regarding the quality - are weak, and let it down. Washing in the dishwasher has evidently done some damage (though the manufacturer claims the attachments are dishwasher-proof among the other claims), and I think the force it has required to get it to lock in place hasn't helped either.
I now have the dilemma of deciding whether to replace the worn parts (main bowl and lid - without which the machine is unusable - and blade) at a high cost just to continue using the machine, or to purchase a replacement food processor from another manufacturer (similar or less cost, but perhaps an inferior motor) and dump the Magimix.
