Item: Foo Fighters, The Pretender
I first heard The Pretender on the weekend before V Festival this year and although this is a comparatively slow song for this mammoth band it is by no means lacking in any form. It did take a listen or two before the greatness shone through and the rocky and powerful vocals of Dave Grohl came across. I looked forward to purchasing 'Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace' after hearing the first single "The Pretender". I was pleasantly surprised by the album. I didn't expect to hear another "In Your Honor" but neither did I expect to hear the kind of material I heard on this album. The album is coupled with hard-hitting rock songs typical of the Foo Fighters as well as beuatiful, melodic accoustic pieces. These were the songs that really did it for me. Foo Fighters are back at their most creative and lively with their sixth studio album and this album is sweet as! A sure hit with fans. Buy it.

I think In Your Honour is a great Foo Fighters double album. I bought the boxed set with the DVD included. I don't know why because nothing happens in the DVD, just a repeat of tracks on album two with a still picture! And the making of the album. Still, these things we must try!
The album itself is excellent, made up of two discs, an upbeat heavier one and a chill out soft rock one. Both are great to listen to, but I think I prefer the "slower tempo" one. ...
