I was shocked when I revisited after not going on to the site for some time to see how nasty it has become. Someone posts a problem ? Let's all make sneering remarks about how WE WOULDN'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE. Someone has an opinion contrary to their mutually enabling hivemind ? Ban them. Basically if they can't bully you then they will ban you. What a load of supercilious and arrogant idiots on there ! I doubt they've noticed a decline in people posting (YET!). But you can bet they'll notice it eventually when they have to resort to bullying each other. What fun it will be to watch that - I'll get the popcorn in.

I bet their new overlords would be interested in how they are successfully destroying what was once a decent site. There are SO many better alternatives, as mentioned in the countless other threads on here who also find the Money Saving Expert website obnoxious.

I've cancelled my email subscription (I don't particularly want a sad curmudgeon to profit from me, which is what he is doing). I bet when his wife dumps him after a certain amount of time (depending on her game plan) it's going to destroy him to give away half of his money.

The internet is littered with forums for the disabled and those with mental health problems, people on low incomes and benefits, innocents who've been robbed etc. all comparing stories about how badly they were treated on the forums of MSE. One poor woman in debt was told she'd be better off killing herself.

I worry about people, really I do.
