The Ombudsman service is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Do not ask for their "help". Using them only increases the charges and fees we pay the banks and insurance companies. As they are funded by the banks and the companies that they say keep tabs on.

The independent assessor that's meant to monitor the ombudsman service is no good either. They actually came up with fair decisions and published decent reports.

These chaps at the ombudsman service just overuse the words unbiased, impartial way too much. it's as though they know they are partial, so have to fool themselves to do the job. Or give the appearance of impartiality but be partial.

Most of their decision are based on standard template letters. The rejection (not upheld) letter is the most used template. The case workers are paid a bonus on the number of cases they get through and most of them haven't got a clue about the area that they have been assigned to.

Most of them are arrogant, obnoxious and rude. There needs to be a serious overhaul of this corrupt organization. It should not be called Ombudsman, its taints the name ombudsman, brings it in to disrepute. I recommend a more suitable title like CONBUDSMAN.

If they want to keep the title, it should be abolished and reformed under proper scrutiny from a public accounts committee and then have the scrutiny of that committee, so that the committee and the Service never loses sight of its objectives.
