Decided to join their offer database to see if they provide anything that you don't get directly. Low and behold I got an email in March telling me I could save 20% if I booked and travelled by middle of April. Got a price, and compared to ferry company themselves and the 20% discount turned out to be valid, so I booked for Easter! Only negative was that had to pay with a debit card otherwise would have had a charge (wanted to use my credit card for points), but some sites charge for debit... (read more)

Made a booking, direct ferries took the money but did not confirm the booking. Phone call to customer service to tell us no tickets and still waiting for refund of my money ,,,!,, con merchants advertising tickets they do not have for sale !!! (read more)

“Money taken but no tickets”

We booked on Sunday evening (1.7) ferries from Fredrikshamn to Travemynde (3.7 evening = 4.7 morning). Everything went okay and we paid the tickets using web pages. But immediately after paying Directferries informed that money has been taken but tickets are not confirmed!! It just said that contact finnish email address!!! There was no phone number to contact. “Love The Comparison!!”

I’ve booked a few times with Direct Ferries, mainly Dover – Calais. Using their booking engine it compares the operators that are running that route at similar times, so you can get the cheapest price! For example on the Dover – Calais route I booked recently I saved about £10, as a frequent ferry user, all of that adds up! If every website was like this, we’d save a lot of money!   (read more)

“Quick and Easy to use”

Wanted a quick way to book a ferry from Dover to Calais for the weekend and found the site through Google so gave it a go. It was nice and simple to find the route I wanted and came back with prices from more than one operator, I always assumed Dover-Calais was just run by P&O. Turned out DFDS do too and were a bit cheaper, so I saved a few quid rather than going straight to book with P&O! Will be recommending to friends for sure. (read more)

I frequently travel by ferry and had always booked directly with the ferry company. Then I discovered this site which allows me to compare prices of different ferry companies and get the cheapest deal. I find the layout very good and the booking process intuitive. When searching for a route several alternative times are also returned which has saved me money as well. “Simple and i like the comparison. ”

I booked a ferry from Dover to Calais for me and my husband only knowing that P&O sailed that route. I found out that DFDS also sail this route using the search tool which is incredibly easy to use considering I’m not great with technology. As it showed me DFDS’s price I saved quite a bit of money on this booking. I would personally recommend this site. (read more)

The terms of booking are pretty vague and not partiuclarly helpful during the booking. Once booked I realised I had made a mistake and booked the crossing the wrong way around, my fault I know! I called them immediately to alert them to my mistake and they immediately tried to charge me to change the booking I had made only moments before. Not acceptable in this day and age!! These companies live and die bey their reputation. Direct Ferries - please improve! (read more)

I booked a trip across the Channel via this website and the process was quick and easy. Compared prices from all the operators for me giving me the best value option and a selection of travel times to choose from. Once i had booked, another friend decided to join us on the trip so i gave them a call and updating the trip with an extra passenger was a breeze! Quick to answer, very friendly and helpful. Great website, compares all the simular routes to get the best price, Ended up saving a few bob by booking the Dover to Dunkirk ferry rather than the Dover to Calais ferry all thanks to the price comparison. The site goes into great details about where the departure port is and even information on the arrival port and where to go from there. Very happy with the easy booking process and would recommend to anyone. (read more)

I found the website via google search. I was going to book Hull - Zeebrugge but a very similar crossing for Hull - Rotterdam was alot cheaper so went for that instead. Very easy to use, compares other relevant routes and I saved myself some money! Also used the mobile site which is very quick to download - always useful when you have data charges abroad. “Good for quick trip across channel”

Used direct ferries to get a ticket to go to france. Got a good comparison for ferries from Dover and paid less than ferry company for crossing to Dunkerque so i saved money from using them. Eurotunnel price was more expensive with them though so better to go directly to them for the tunnel. Definitely recommend them for a trouble free booking. (read more)
